Free Horizon Montessori's 1st Annual Fun Run is a HUGE Success!!!
What a fantastic way to start off the new year! 120 runners/walkers participated in our first Fun Run and lots more cheered them on and/or volunteered around Corporate Circle directing traffic, handing out water, and lots more. All participants received a medal at the finish line commemorating their hard work. A huge shout out to all our awesome sponsors; without you we could not have made this happen! A special thanks to our FHM family sponsors: the Shadowlights, the Knights, the Dixons and the Bowmans. Congratulations to Katy Krueger the winner of our summer camp Fun Run t-shirt design contest! Thank you to Ms. Katy for promoting the contest for us and collecting all the children‟s wonderful art. Funds from the Fun Run will help pay for a shade structure for our new sports field. Nice work everyone!

Volunteer Alert!
Do you love planning parties, have a passion for interior design, love to cook, organize, or just dig in on whatever is needed??? If so, the CSN and FHM need you and your talents and skills. We are gearing up for our best fundraising year ever and there are tons of opportunities for you to participate. Like to garden? Volunteer to help with the flower gardens and community garden. Like to fundraise and plan parties? Jump onto the Spring Fling planning committee! We need volunteers just like you to help with the Bowling Night, Scholastic Book Fair, Day & Night at Barnes & Noble, Spring Fling, our first Rummage Sale, and so much more! You can see current volunteer opportunities on the CSN website, in the parent lounge, hear about them at the CSN monthly Board meeting, or contact me, Naomi Olmstead for more information.

2010/2011 Directory and Calendar
We at the CSN are very excited to announce that we will be adding a calendar to our School Directory this year! These fabulous tools will help keep you organized year round, keep you up to date with upcoming school events, provide you with the information you need to set up play dates, get together with other FHM families you would like to know better, and let you know what businesses support FHM so that you can support them in turn.
To become a part of the directory, please make sure to fill out and return a Directory and Calendar Signup Sheet not later than September 17. You can find the forms in the parent lounge. Please turn them in at the front desk or at the next CSN Board Meeting on Tuesday, September 14th.

Friday Meet and Greet Breakfast
Calling all parents!!!
If you like FREE morning treats, coffee, juice and a chance to chat with other fabulous FHM parents, please join us for our monthly Meet-n-Greets. These take place on the 4th Friday of the month from 8:15-9:00 a.m. in the school cafeteria starting September 24th. Drop by, say Hi, grab a cup of coffee and a snack and chat a while. Or just grab a treat and go. These get-togethers are the CSN‟s way of saying „Thanks for being a fabulous FHM Parent!”

Log Your Hours Campaign
Congratulations! We exceeded our goal of 7,000 volunteer hours last year by over 500 hours with 79% of FHM families logging hours. Lets hit 100% participation this year! We are so grateful for the volunteer work FHM families have provided to the school. The school would not be able to function at the “high performing” levels it does without your contributions!
Logging your hours is like money in the bank for FHM. Your hours help FHM keep matching funds grants, keep costs down, and keep the quality of education high.
The CSN is going green! The paper log book in the parent lounge is being replaced by a laptop where you can log into your account on the CSN website and log your hours, look at current volunteer opportunities, etc. To create your account at home and log your hours, go to the CSN website and set up an account for your family or, if you have an account from last year, you can continue using that login.
